Imagine the difference it would make if Australia’s arts and cultural heritage collections were all easily available online. If, simply by taking a smartphone out of their pocket, turning on their PC or swiping their tablet:
All this can be achieved through the Digital Access to Collections initiative of GLAM Peak, and work is already underway on a strategic national framework and a practical toolkit for smaller institutions.
This session will provide the inside track on a Ministry of the Arts Catalyst-funded project that is supported by the Academy of Humanities, AIATSIS, ALIA, the Council of Australian University Librarians, CSIRO, the Federation of Australian Historical Societies, Museums and Gallleries Australia, National Archives, National and State Libraries Australasia, and other associations, as well as by major national, state and territory GLAM institutions.
